What We Swore Was True

Fifteen years ago, Rachel Vale accused a charismatic university tutor of serious misconduct. Olivia Reed and five of her closest friends gave him an alibi. Olivia has spent years telling herself they believed they were doing the right thing. Then, just as Merriton University prepares to honour the same man, an anonymous envelope arrives. Inside is a recording from 2011. Olivia hears the six friends rehearsing the story they later swore was true. One woman can be heard saying part of it never happened. Soon, different pieces of the recording begin reaching the others. Each version makes someone else look guilty. Someone wants them frightened, divided and turning on each other before the full truth comes out. The women have built careers, families and reputations on top of what happened that night. Rachel disappeared from their lives long ago. Now Olivia has to find out who is sending the recordings, and what really happened before they signed their names. Because fifteen years ago, six women helped bury one woman's accusation. And someone has decided it is time to dig it up.
