The Houseplant Arrangement
The last thing Georgia Miles needs after losing her museum job is her cheerful upstairs neighbour filling her carefully neutral living room with houseplants.
The last thing Georgia Miles needs after losing her museum job is her cheerful upstairs neighbour filling her carefully neutral living room with houseplants. Kit Moreno has lost the storage space for his office-plant subscription business, and Georgia has three months of savings left. His offer is simple: let him use her flat temporarily, and he’ll cover part of the rent. She agrees. Then she starts fixing his delivery schedules. And his customer follow-ups. And the supplier problems he somehow thinks optimism will solve. Working beside Kit is dangerously easy. He’s warm, funny, impossible to stay annoyed with, and far too comfortable in her home. Georgia is supposed to be looking for another museum job, not wondering how much she likes building something with him. But the more Canopy Club grows, the harder it becomes to keep work, home and attraction neatly separate. Georgia is beginning to wonder whether the future she wants might look nothing like the one she planned. The harder question is whether she and Kit can build something together without risking everything that matters.
